Week 5 Erin and I went over the
Business plan with Bobby who loved the plan! We just had to make minor
adjustments but once we do it will be finished. Next, on Thursday we had to
prep for the Farmers Market at the National Weather Center. We had fruit cups
with waffle cups. The fruits were grapes, blueberries, blackberries, and
strawberries. With this, we had sweet potato hummus which was delicious! To add
to it we had some pesto pasta and at the end of the table we had flavored
water. The flavored water was with lemon and cucumber which we made! So simple
yet so delicious! What else that was so popular was the chips and salsa. The
salsa was locally grown as well as the other products used in the Farmers
Market. It was so fun and interesting to see the vendors that were able to
present their projects or products.
There was a great selection of plants and vegetables!
This was our table that we set up with some delicious treats!
Here are the other vendors that displayed their products as well!
So many awesome choices!
Of course, a winery vendor showed up! It wouldn't be the same without it!
Week 6 we visited Crossroads and
the Union Market. At crossroads we met the manager, Gary who showed us the
rundown of the restaurant. He also explained the difference between to macro
and micro management. Micro is when the employees are dependent on the manager
while macro is the opposite. Macro allows the employees to grow as an
individual and they become proactive. It reminded me of the time that I was
working at Panda Express and my manager kept telling me to gain more confidence
in myself so I can make judgment calls on myself. The next thing we did was
visit the Union Market for 2 days and it was very fun! This time we did our
recipe development with Jen and we made all kinds of stuff since Erin had to
have 5 recipes for her class. It was very fun seeing the creations that we were
creating!
