The majority of this week was dedicated to project work, which was good, because Maura and I got a lot done on both of our projects! We were able to finalize our recipes for our New England themed meal, as well as test out a couple of recipes, meet with a member of the marketing team to discus our marketing strategy, look at decorations, and map out a layout plan for the day of the event. We also got a significant amount of work done on our other summer long project, which is to present to the dining services managers about a topic related to customer service. We have decided to focus on the language of customer service. We were able to come up with an outline and a majority of our power point presentation.

As part of our scheduled week however, we had the pleasure of meeting with the accountant, who pays all of the bills for the Dining Services. We had the chance to learn more about how the process of billing works and what the managers at each facility have to do to submit bills and paperwork. We also conducted strength finder tests this week, and found out our top 5 strengths, which we will be reviewing in more detail during this upcoming week. My top 5 strengths were developer, arranger, includer, positivity, and achiever, all of which I believe explained my work ethic pretty well. It was really cool to read the descriptions of each and relate it to some real life experiences that I have had; it was very eye opening.
Oh, and I almost forgot, last week I helped give a little bit of a new spark to one of the dining halls by switching out the pictures behind the main line at The Village Summit. I wasn't able to get a picture until this week, so I thought I would share it now!

This week ended on a good note, by taking a spur of the moment trip to Savannah and Tybee Island! We spent the day at the beach and the night venturing around River Road in Savannah and treating ourselves to come amazing seafood! It truly has been an awesome weekend and I am sad to see my days here in Athens, GA very quickly dwindling down.
