Week 4 Montana State University

Mariah arrived this week!  Our third and final intern is here!  We are complete!

This week we toured food service facilities on campus that we hadn't been to yet.

 The Bakery

We toured the bakery and saw how they do it all.  The top left picture is the list of everything that is in the refrigerator and freezer so they knew how many trays of each item they have.  The top right picture is the machine that makes dough into balls; they have two machines, one that makes large dough balls for pizza, and another that makes smaller dough balls for cookies.  The bottom left picture is a really cool, really big oven that has shelves that rotate.  The bottom right is a picture of trays of cookies being shrink wrapped so they are ready to be sent out to the dining halls.

Harrison Dining Hall

We visited Harrison Dining Hall and got a tour of the front of the house, and the kitchen.  We didn't get to see this place in action because it is closed for the summer.  They've got some cool murals on the walls, and I am kind of tempted to see the geyser blow on that hot cart.

We can tell they take things from Chef Martin very seriously at Harrison Dining Hall.  They even have a special bin for him.

Kyle has been teaching us how to play pool.

The hike to the M is gorgeous, and also strenuous if you go up the steep trail (don't do it).

This Week's Lesson from Paul:  Visualize.  How are you going to make it happen?  What steps do you need to take?  Make a plan before you begin.  A project is like the Grand Canyon.  You can see the big picture a lot better at the beginning, from the rim, than you can each step of the way in.
