Greetings from University of Washington!

Hi from Seattle! Our names are Modjeska Herndon and Katy Davis, and we are the 2016 NACUFS interns at the University of Washington. We arrived June 1st and had some time to explore all the fun things Seattle has to offer. We had our first day of work today, and we will post about our first week at the end of the week, but for now here are some introductions.

Hi everyone!

I'm Modjeska, a junior in the nutrition and dietetics program at the University of North Florida located in Jacksonville, Florida. Some of my hobbies include: cooking, eating, and exploring. It is my very first time here in Washington, so I was very excited to explore some of the famed national parks: Olympic National Park and Mt. Rainier National Park. This is a rather brief introduction, but I am looking forward to telling you all about my time here and everything I have learned.

The beach in the Olympic National Park. Amazing driftwood and tidal pools!
Another location in the Olympic National Park
The Suzzallo Library on the UW campus. Does it remind anyone of Harry Potter? It is actually nicknamed the Harry Potter Library!
Soaking up the sun on a dock located right on campus. SO BEAUTIFUL!
Came across this breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier while exploring the park.

Bye for now!

Hello!

My name is Katy, and I just finished my junior year in the nutrition and dietetics program at Syracuse University. I absolutely LOVE Seattle so far. I have gotten to explore the downtown area and see Pike's Place Market (fish throwing and all!), the original Starbucks, and the Space Needle. I'm hoping to meet Meredith Grey soon (any Grey's Anatomy fans out there??). Modjeska and I also had a chance to explore the waterfront and we learned that when students aren't studying, they are soaking up the sun on the beach or on the water.

We are really excited to see all this internship and this city have to offer. Another post about our experience as interns to come after we have a few more days on the job!
